The parts of a turkey.

• The tail fan is the long tail feathers at the hind end of the turkey.

• The reddish-pink growth on their heads and upper neck are called caruncles.

• Turkeys have two eyes, one on each side of their heads.

• Turkeys have a hard, sharp bill also called a beak.

• Male turkeys have a spike above each foot called a spur.

• The snood is the flap of skin that grows from the base of the turkey's bill and hangs off the end.

• The wattle is the bright red skin that hangs from neck.

• Males and some females have beards, a bundle of long, thin, dark feathers on their chests.
