Presents / Balls

skill level: easiest
cost:
$5-$20*
craft time: 15 minutes or so depending on the size
*The price
is dependent on price of goodies inside.
1, 2 or 3 rolls of crepe paper
different colors (or more)
small "cracker type" things, i.e. dime store ring,
small candy, little prizes
Take one roll of crepe paper and put in the
best little prize you have (I usually put a coin or dollar bill) then proceed to
roll it up in to a ball, like you would with yarn. Every 7 rolls add a prize.
Keep doing this till you get to the end of the paper, then tape the second roll
on and keep going. this can be as big as your imagination is. I use it for a
stocking stuffer for older children as well as the birthday present. Kids love
making and receiving these!
Comment from W.Holidays
Santa brought us one of these every year but we had
to wait until New Years to open them. We called them our New Year Balls.
Inside were the amount of half-dollars that corresponded to our age, small
plastic toys, etc. Santa used lots of colored crepe paper. They were always
decorated to look like something: a snowman, reindeer, elf, etc. We loved opening
them, but even more we loved playing in the crepe paper afterwards (so did the dog).
