Mother's
Day
by Connie Robbins
A mother is a footstep in the
night,
it's a name shouted with glee, whispered in anticipation,
cried in
fear.
It's someone to play with, to hide from, to love.
It's sometimes a
spanking but then right away it becomes
2 arms that hug.
A mother can
make a tunnel of a sleeve, or turn an
upside down stool into a cave.
She
can tame wild animals and frighten away ghosts.
She can laugh tears away
without a hanky,
and calm fears with a loving hand.
It's popsicles,
cookies, cakes, kleenex, and lost shoes
and mittens at night time.
She's a
lap, a soft lullaby, and a repeated prayer.
A mother can be a lot of things i
guess.
But best of all she's always there for you today
and
always.
She's a mother!!!!!!
