Christmastime(1960's and 70's) was pure magic at our house when I
was little. My parents had a big Christmas Eve Party and mom would serve Swedish
meatballs and ham and she made all of her own Christmas cookies. I especially
loved the ones with the Hershey Kiss inside of the cookie ball. Then we would go
to midnight service at church and then off to a neighborhood party afterwards.
Then in the morning my father would take videos with the bright lights of us all
coming down the stairs to see what Santa left us and it would be a sea of
presents! Then it was a big breakfast and then a fire in the fireplace and we
would play with our toys all day! Mom died suddenly on 12/1/97. She was my rock
and my best friend. I love you Mom and miss you so very much. See you
someday....

My Mom raised
4 boys and 4 girls and she taught us that no matter what life throws at us to be
there for one another. She loved us unconditionally. My Mom is no longer with
me. She was diagnosed with leukemia on December 10, 1999 and died on January 2,
2000. I miss visiting her and the chats we had over a hot cup of coffee. The
void I feel will never be filled....she will always be in my heart...'til we
meet again. Love you Mother!

My Mom has got
to be the best, she loves me beyond compare and will do anything just to see me
happy. One day when my sister and I were just small, we live right beside a
river and can go swimming any time, my mother did not feel like going swimming.
So we would beg and plead, but still she would not go so we wrote her an
invitation to go swimming, it worked, she came swimming with us.

When I was little and couldn't go to sleep my mother let me stay
up and watch TV or play solitaire with her. She would let me stay up until I
fell asleep and then she'd carry me to my bed. Thank you mommy. I will always
love and miss you.

I was about 7 years old when a strike at the
University of Carabobo left my parents and my grandparents without a job. Soon
we had no money and they cut out the water and the electricity. As children we
were terrified. My mother, who taught journalism, made this trial into an
adventure. We sat at night making tiny wax dolls from the wax that dripped from
the candles and making stories about these doll's lives. It was one of the best
summers of my life. Thank you mom and may you rest in peace -- I miss
you.

When I was around 11 or 12 my mother showed me just
how special being the middle child is. I have an older brother and a younger
sister and I was feeling a little left out. My sister and I were sharing a room
and we were not getting along. My mom saw how upset I was and one morning when I
woke up there was a card beside my bed. Inside the card she spelled MIDDLE and
from each letter she spelled out the qualities that made me special. She knew
just what I needed and for that I will always be grateful. Thank you Momma.
Happy Mother's Day!!!!! I love you!!!!!!!!

My mom is the greatest. She is the mother of four
sons who are now middle-aged. She has 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She has been a shining example of Christian character and caring for all of us
over all of these years. What a lady!!!!!!!! She still cares for all of us. She
prays for us. Her cooking is great. With her every day is an adventure. She is
admired by all including 2 loving daughters-in-law. My hat is off to my
mom!!!!!!!! She's the greatest.

When I was a little girl, my mom took me to the
store to buy me a teddy bear. She told me that when she was a little girl, her
mother bought her a teddy bear, so she wanted to continue to buy me one too. We
picked a cuddly brown teddy bear which she said resembled the one she had as a
child. My grandmother, her mother, made an outfit for the bear and we named him
"Sunny". I still have my teddy bear and I have also continued the tradition with
my own daughter.

Everyday is a memory with my mom - she is the most
unselfish, caring, loving person I know and I'm very lucky. Last year I made her
a memory jar for Mother's Day - I bought a glass jar with a lid and put a fancy
ribbon around it and filled it with folded pieces of paper with calligraphied
memories on them. She read them all in one day, but we all had such a nice time
reminiscing about each item. I suggest it for anyone who cherishes their mom.
She'll love it.

When I was little I was very clumsy and I kept
breaking things. I remember one day when I was upset about breaking something
else, she just smiled and looked at me and said, “Honey your not clumsy, you
just need to be more careful”. To my amazement she was right.—I really began to
be more careful and sure enough I stop dropping things.
