Tin Art Candle Holder

Tin art has long been
an American tradition. Although it had been around for awhile it didn't gain
popularity until the early 1800s. Pieces of tin that have been embossed where
used in everyday household wares. Some pieces have holes poked though (pierce
ware) to allow light and warmth to come though. That is what this project will
do.
empty aluminum cans, with the labels removed
water
lager
nails
hammer
towel
short, fat candle
You may want to create a
pattern before hand on a large piece of paper (the size of the can, then secure
it around the can to use as a template.
Fill the can with water and
freeze overnight.
Place the can in towel and steady on the floor or
worktable.
Using a large nail and a hammer, gently tap holes into the can
creating a pattern
Let the ice melt.
Place a candle into the can and
light.
