National Oatmeal Monthoatmeal
by W.Holidays

Lots of oatmeal is consumed in January.  According to the Quaker Oats Company, Americans bought enough oatmeal in January of 1999 to make 470 million bowls!

Oatmeal is good for your heart.  The soluble fiber in oatmeal can help to lower cholesterol.  Oatmeal may also reduce blood pressure.

Popular way to top off a bowl of oatmeal is with butter, milk, sugar (brown or white) and fruit.  Some creative ways to eat oatmeal include adding peanut butter to the oatmeal or hiding a spoonful of jelly in the center.
