God has taken you away
by Biographywriter

Dad. .When I was little
You used to take me
For walks in the park

Oh! How I loved those walks
We used to stop for ice cream
And then we’d sit on the bench

When we finished our ice cream
You used to take a small ball
From the pocket of your coat
And you and I would play catch

Then again we would sit on the bench
And you would tell me stories
Some would make me laugh
While others made me cry

Days passed too quickly
And I grew into a woman
That’s when you started growing old

I often look back
To those wonderful days
Days of long ago
When you and I were young

When I saw you growing old
I grew a bit afraid
For I knew the day
Was drawing near
When I would have you no more

I’m glad I made the time to be with you
If for just a few minutes a day
For those memories will last forever
Now that God has taken you home to stay
