Memories of Dad

Dad. That is such a special word and holds so much meaning to me
because of the dad that I was blessed with. We lost my dad, Robert, to a massive
heart attack in 1994. I thank God that I was blessed to have been his daughter,
if only for 25 years. I have so many memories of him, I don't have enough time
or room to express them. My dad was my hero and best friend. He could make me
laugh or cry at the drop of a hat. He was the most honorable man I knew. To this
day I have never met anyone else like him. He taught me to have strength and
courage and that character is most important in life. If I could say one more
thing to him it would be this: Dad, you are sorely missed. I would give up
everything to have you back for just one day. I hope you are looking down on me
and are proud and know how much I love you. Because that's all that matters. I
love and miss you and I'll see you on the other side.
Your daughter
forever,
Alaina

My dad was called Shanny Kelleher, he was 100% Irish, and he
taught my brother and I how to love, cry and laugh. He was not the healthiest
man alive but he made the most of his life. The best image I have of my Dad -
was on his knees praying before he went to bed. Thanks Dad I'm try'n to follow
in your great steps. God's speed !

I never new my dad. So my memory of dad must come from in side
myself. I have been a dad now for 20 years. I have done everything i could to be
a part of my families life. I don't drink or smoke like my step dad did. I don't
hurt my children like my step dad did. I never call them stupid or dumb or burn
them. I always told them i loved them and when they cried I cried. Just like
today. I would like to think IM a good dad. I love my kids. Amie Douglas James.
I feel sad today my kids forgot me to. That's ok everybody forgets me:) Hope
next year will be not so sad?

My Dad is Terrific. He taught me & Emily my sister how to
shoot a bow, he even got us our own bow and case. I'm telling you my Dad is
GREAT! If I didn't have him for a Dad I would be so sad, or I wouldn't now how
to shoot a bow. When I get older around 12 my Dad will teach me how to shoot a
gun, even I might get to go deer hunting. One day I might be better than him. So
Happy Father's Day DAD! PS. Have a Great Father's Day EVER!

My most recent...and my fondest! The night I walked down the
aisle to meet my groom, my father was standing at the alter with awe in his
eyes...waiting to wed us! Before we left the reception, he gave me hug, and the
feeling like he never wanted to let me go, but at last, sent me on my way to
start my new life... a moment in time that lasted forever. I am all grown up now
Dad, but I will always be your little girl! Happy Father's Day. We love you very
much!

Daddy, I am writing this so that you and everyone in the world
will know how much you are missed and loved. It has been 3 years, but yet I can
still smell your cologne and see your sweet smile. Everyone morning when I here
the birds sing, I think of you and remember how much you enjoyed nature. I look
in the eyes of my children and so desperately wish you were here to her there
laughter. I never thought this day would come that you would no longer
physically be here on earth with me. Days go by and I wonder when this hurt will
go away. Father's Day is a few days and my heart is hurting, it is really
hurting. Everyone that has crossed your path in life misses you. Eric and Jason
are men now, they miss you. You did your best with all of us. You have shown us
how to love and love one another. You were our rock and at times I feel that
there is nothing to hold me up any more. There is nothing like daddy's love. I
will NEVER, NEVER forget everything that you did for me nor the love you
surrounded me with. I hope that I will be as good a mother and be able to impact
my children the way you impacted me. I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND YOU WILL NEVER BE
FORGOTTEN. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

My father is gone now but I have such wonderful memories of him.
Like every Christmas when he would come over to our house just as the children
woke up (and believe me that was EARLY)with his Santa cap and huge red plastic
bag filled with gifts for the grandchildren. I remember how he would put on the
Mickey Mouse ears hat that the kids had from our trip to Disneyworld and the
children would try to get it off him and laugh until they were rolling on the
floor. I remember Dad watching the soaps and telling me all about them when he
came over to visit. He would tell me who was fooling around with who's husband
or who was having a baby and all about his favorite villan at the time, John
Dixon. We had such great talks and were always on the same wavelength. Not a
Father's Day goes by that I don't remember all of the wonderful memories my
father left behind. Thanks Dad.

My dad
died on Father's Day 3 years ago. He was one of the greatest dad. I still miss
him very very much and wish I could hug him and give him a kiss. I just want him
to know how much I love him and miss him and that we are taking care of mom for
him. Miss you more and more each year DAD

My Dad
will be remembered most for the care he gave my Mother during her extended
illness. How he raised 5 children and worked very hard. Growing up was a little
difficult, but now we have a good relationship. He is alone now. We lost Mother
over 1 year ago, he is now in a nursing home unable to care for a home and
himself. We loved Mom and miss her greatly. Dad is carrying on ok... I just felt
like telling ya'll about it. I appreciate my Dad and I love him. Happy Father's
Day ,Dad- ITP

I love my dad so much.. he rocks! I have so many wonderful
memories of him...where to start? There's the time recently when he flipped out
because the bird was flying around in his car...oh yeah, and the awesome food he
always brings to the beach in coolers... there's the way he never tells me he
loves me, too. But, Dad, I think I figured it out. Your feelings for me are so
strong that you don't think the word love can describe them. I understand. One
of my oldest and fondest memories is when Dad and I would be walking the aisles
of Acme or Pathmark, and I would say "I'm the Daddy and you're the Mabes." Then
I would proceed to put all kinds of cookies and candies in the cart. After a few
minutes Dad would tell me to switch and he would take all of me "groceries" out
of the cart and replace them with the things on his list. I love you Dad. And I
am so very grateful for all you do for me. You're the best Bargain Shopper I
know. I'm sorry I won't be here on yopur special day, but i will be with you in
spirit. Happy Father's Day!!

My dad is awesome!!! Just ask him - he'll tell you. Dad, or
Papacito as I like to call him, loves all of his eight children (even Marybeth!)
and his three children-in-law. He has also been a wonderful Pappy to Anna,
Conor, and Mary Grace (and Rocky, Josie and Maddie). The story I wanted to share
this Father's Day is the famed fishing trip. Remember, Dad, when your wallet
fell from your pocket into the bay? hee-hee And when you told us to jump in
after it, we were like "No way, man! There's jellyfish in there!" The best part
was going in circles because the motor wouldn't start and we only had one oar.
How furiously you paddled to get us to circle and never come even close to the
wallet. I'll always wonder if it was ever found, and if Mikey's catch - the
minnow - is still alive!!! Dad, You're the Greatest!

My
dad's the best in the world because he has always been there for us. He raised 6
kids with my mom that all became successful professionals. He taught values,
morals, and fun to all of us. He took us on Sunday hikes, camping trips, and
summer vacations. He also took the neighborhood kids. He was and is a dad to
all. He still looks after his children even if we are grown-up.

My parents divorced when I was
3 and my sister was just a year old. My daddy with my grandmother's help raised
my sister and me. He was the best daddy anyone could ask for. I remember Daddy
standing out in the blistering sun just so we could swim at the public pool. I
remember on my 16th birthday- Daddy and I were talking and I asked him could he
believe that he had a daughter that was that old? He replied that he couldn't.He
asked me to come and sit on his lap, I said that I was to big (at this time my
daddy had had 3 major heart attacks and 2 open heart surgeries- so I was scared
that I truly would hurt him)but he said the most beautiful thing, "you will
never be to big (old) to sit in my lap." My daddy died on January 12,1990- he
was 52- I was 16 and my sister was 14- our granny continued to raise us. June 13
is his birthday he would have been 64- along with Father's Day it makes for a
very sad week. He was my best friend and if parents can be your soulmate he was
mine. Some folks that I know might think that he didn't amount to anything
because he didn't have degrees like his brothers but I can assure you he was
richer than they will ever be- he had the true love of his daughters and we were
richer for having him as our Daddy even for a short time. I thank God for him
everyday and say a prayer that our guardian angel(Daddy) will look over us and
be able to see the things that he has missed and have peace that his daughters
turned out okay with his guidance and love. Happy Birthday and Happy Father's
Day Daddy!!! You are loved and missed more each day! We love you, your girls,
Denise and Becky your grandchildren, Bradley, Brittany, and Trey ( Becky's kids)

My Father was the worlds best!!! And I'm luck to have had such a
wonderful Father and person who loved me, WARTS and all. He was so Kind and
understanding. Never had an enemy, anyone who knew him was a FRIEND. He spent
his life working to make our family comfortable. Only the best education for his
children. I am the second oldest of 4 children. All the others Have achieved
masters degrees, not me, I am very happy, working at a job that I enjoy.. and I
know Dad has always been proud of ALL of us. Unfortunately, Dad passed suddenly,
without all of us around him... altho this fact hurts.. I know Dad knows he was
loved so much, and missed. Dad, If you hear me in the middle of the night, I'm
not sad, I just miss you so.... Much Love, Alice P.S. We are PROUD of YOU!

I have never had the real experience of a child and their dad,
my dad has been sick since i was sick, he only has 15% of his heart and has
cancer, BUT that has not stopped him from loving me and doing everything he
possibly can, to make sure that his princess follows in the right direction. Dad
I LOVE YOU!

Me and my dad went to the Lakers final game. There was a big
riot and me and my dad were in it. We were driving really fast and throwing
rocks, I had so much fun. We almost hit 50 people but it was cool!!

My dad
once took me to his "office" which was an 18-wheeler garage. I was probably 4 at
the time. Needless to say, by the end of the day, I was covered from head to
foot in grease. Yep, that was me, my dad's little grease monkey. That's one of
my best memories. I love you dad, Happy Father's Day!!

I
can honestly say that I don't have many good memories of my father from my
childhood. This is mostly due to the fact that he was an alcoholic. When I was
very young, he was abusive to my mother and I both physically and emotionally.
As I got older I resented the way he was with me and absolutely despised him.
However, the older I got, the less he drank. When I was 18, he was given an
ultimatum by the military after another time of attempting to beat my mother up
and was forced to begin going to AA and begin the process of being sober. That
was 10 years ago in October of this year. Since that time, my father has become
my best friend. I call him if I need to talk to someone or need advice, always
giving his advice unconditionally... leaving me to make the ultimate decisions
without judgment for those decisions. He calls me frequently just to tell me he
loves me and misses me. He is a wonderful grandfather and my children adore him.
The memories I have now are wonderful and fill my heart with so much love and
adoration. Now that I have gotten older I realize that he had a problem and I
forgive him for his behavior when I was a child. I love him more than words can
say and would be lost without him. Happy fathers day, Dad. I love you.

I
can't think of any one special memory of Dad that is more special then any. My
Dad has only been gone about 10 weeks and all of the memories are special. I
only hope that I can remember all of them for ever. He was so good and so brave.
He never complained even though he had reason to. I miss him so much. What a
good man. I only hope that I can remember ever minute I spent with
him.
