6-9 wildly outlandish ties (or the regular ones) from the thrift
store-don't use Dads unless you have his permission
liquid starch (you can
find this in most craft stores)
Using paper towel rolls, toilet paper
rolls, paper/plastic containers, aluminum foil, and glue or tape, construct a
sculpture base (which you will wrap your ties around--this base will be removed
later).
Pour starch into a clean bowl.
Submerge ties into starch and soak
5 minutes.
Remove ties from starch; let excess starch drain back into the
bowl.
Wrap ties around the sculpture, be creative. Be sure to wrap the
bottom so you have a base for your sculpture to stand on.
Let dry, may need
to dry overnight.
Remove the base construction carefully and voila your tie
art is done.
