Egyptian Bread
1 rounded teaspoon yeast
4 to
4-1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
lukewarm water
Mix
yeast with a little flour and water.
Put the mixture in a warm place for
30-60 minutes.
Knead the mixture with the remaining flour and a little mare
water until you have dough that's pliable.
Form dough into 4" balls, place
on baking sheet, dust with flour and let sit 1 hour.
Preheat oven to
400F.
Flatten balls into large flat round loaves.
Bake 30-40 minutes
until risen and cooked through. (When thumped in the center it should sound
hallow.
