Mixes in a Jar
When making mixes there are a few things to
remember. Use a clean, dry jar. Use a funnel to help get the
ingredients in the jar. Pack down each layer. Wipe off the inside of
the glass if "dust" from the ingredients settles on it. For a festive
look, cover the lid with fabric and tie it on with ribbon or raffia and
perhaps a candy cane.
Some of the soups, breads, and muffin mixes come up short in the 1 quart
jars so you may want to seal ingredients in plastic gift bags. The
drink mixes are best in smaller jars.
