Christmas Fun Calendar

1 square yard green felt
1 square yard red felt
hot glue gun
glitter glue
needle and thread
1/2" wood dowel, 28" long
decorative ribbon
small Christmas decorations

Cut out 25 pieces from the green felt measuring 3" x 4".
Cut red felt to measure 29" x 36".
Along the 29" side, fold over about 3" and stitch to the back of the felt, this will hold the wood dowel.
Slide the dowel through and tie the ribbon to both ends of the dowel and glue to secure.
Arrange the green felt pieces into five rows of five, leave a 2" border all around the red felt.  These will be your pockets.
Use a hot glue gun to set them into place by gluing the sides and bottom only.
Using glitter glue to write the numbers 1 to 25, one number per green pockets.
Add decorations with glue.
Let glue hardened completely.
Tuck activities and treats into each pocket.
Each day you child can go into the corresponding pocket and enjoy.

Ideas to fill the pockets:

• Write a special activitie for the day, like, "Tonight we sip hot cocoa and eat cookies by the fire."
• One might say it is movie and popcorn, night.
• On some days tuck a surprise trinket or piece of candy.
